relevant to bullying may be focused on student wellbeing,
                      student safety or student behaviour.

It’s important to remember that rules must be developed in consultation with the
school community. School policy on bullying should be reviewed every few years and

that requirement should be included in formal documents. While creating, reading or
reviewing school a policy make sure it includes:

                   ⎯ Clear definition of bullying.

⎯ Expectations about students' positive behaviour towards others in the school
                      and off school grounds.

⎯ Both protections for students and adults in the workplace.

⎯ Information on how to build a positive school culture.

⎯ Roles and responsibilities of specific staff members.

⎯ The school's procedures for reporting incidents. Clearly outlines steps the
school should take when staff becomes aware of bullying behaviour.

⎯ Directions about maintenance of appropriate records.

                   ⎯ Follow-up monitoring procedures.

⎯ Provision of mediation, counseling and peer support for affected students,
including students engaging in bullying behaviour.

               HOW TO IMPLEMENT ANTI-BULLYING PROJECT?

Effective bullying policy clearly outlines the steps the schools will take when staff
become aware of bullying behaviour, the strategies that may be utilised to address the

               behaviour.

Besides that, teachers should be encouraged to use methods that prevent bullying

behaviours for that purpose materials prepared for ART AGAINST BULLYING will
               be useful.

According to Alasker (2004) teachers who participate in bullying prevention programs
feel more confident about handling bullying problems, have more supportive attitudes
about victimized students, and feel more positively about working with parents

               regarding bullying problems. 10
