Standards constitute a reference system necessary in the process of

competence self-assessment of teachers-leaders.
Acknowledging such standards, each teacher has the possibility of
reflecting on his/her training and is able to identify his/her
strengths as well as those areas in need of improvement.
Based on self-assessment, teachers are able to identify the
professional competence and leadership areas they ought to focus
on, also they can develop a professional strategy based on which
teachers-leaders.eu teachers-leaders.eu teachers-leaders.eu
they could choose various training programs: mentorship activities,
leadership activities, field literature studying, sustained training
courses, experience exchange, participation in thematic
conferences, i.e.
Standards are created with the purpose of encouraging
communication between professionals on the range of skills that
teachers-leaders must present and on how this leadership form may
be distinguished, associated with the formal, administrative

management in order to sustain a good teaching process and to
advocate the good teaching practices and promote students
learning.
