SESSION 1 Community leadership:

Definition and meaning, qualities of good leadership

Session goal The session’s goal is to enable community leaders to reflect,

reinforce and practice their values, as well as to enrich their

knowledge and resources to improve community performance.

Learning At the end of the session, the expected results are:
objectives/skills:
- understanding the concept of community leadership;

- building the leader's profile;

- practicing the values of the leader at personal, family and

community level;

- developing the concept of community culture

- understanding how people can be influenced

- establishing qualities of good leadership

The trainer will welcome the participants, and other people from
activities/notes
the training team.

Afterwards, he/she will ask participants to introduce themselves

and to explain, in a few words, their interest for the training

session.

When the presentations are finished, the session goals and

learning objectives will be specified.
The trainer will introduce the topic of the session in a PowerPoint

presentation. The meaning of the terms: community,

leaders/leadership, followers, influence etc. are introduced.
